Bit of a random email but I've been keen to contact your company for a while as I just wanted to let you know about the positive difference your Llaeth Y Llan yoghurts make to my Nan's life, so here I am! A big statement to make I know, but I'm confident my Nan is the biggest fan of your yoghurts! Nan is 90, she lives in a village in Southeast Wales. In the last few years Alzheimer's and Dementia have very sadly taken so much from her but one of her greatest joys has always been her Llaeth Y Llan yoghurts. Over the years we've regularly been sent to the shops specifically to pick up Nan's "Welsh yoghurts". She is always well stocked and has one a day. Interestingly, they are now her favourite subject to talk about, we spend a lot of our time together running through the different flavours and discussing which ones are her favourite (it changes regularly!). Nan has always been fiercely independent and active, as you can imagine her illness has been incredibly difficult for her to experience. But I feel like her having a decision to make every day about which flavour yoghurt she would like gives her a tiny bit of her independence back and helps with her routine. Your yoghurts have been bringing my nan so much comfort and joy and have allowed me and her to keep connecting and communicating through this horrible illness - so thanks team. 🙂 Ellie

Since 1985

Our story so far...

Take a trip down memory lane and explore our journey through the years…

1985

Our Beginning

Who knew that from Gareth and Falmai’s first trials of yogurt in their Tal Y Bryn Farmhouse airing cupboard, back in 1985, Llaeth Y Llan would develop into a thriving producer with a modern production facility designed to create and package high quality yogurt.

1990s

The Old Farm

The initial dairy was converted from an old calf shed, where milk was bottled, cream separated and yogurt produced all next door to the milking parlour and cow holding areas, where cows would wait to be milked.

The Dairy was officially opened by the late Lord Dafydd Elis Thomas in 1995.

2000s

A Modern Dairy

A more modern dairy was designed and built utilising the old redundant farm granary and other outbuildings, to fulfil increased demand for our yogurt and milk.

2010s

Expanding The Dairy

We built a larger production facility next door to the old dairy. Early in the year the dairy passed its BRC audit with flying colours and the dairy was officially opened by Lesley Griffiths AM, Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs.
